My poem dedicated to the former leader of the house of commoners who left with a very, very, most excellent and distinguished title!




SPRINGBARON

G21’s never been and never will be
a postcode of the aristocracy
so a title unbecoming, distasteful and crass
is Baron Martin of Springburn and Port Dundas !

Having vacated his palacial westminster apartments
something closer to home clearly makes more sense
maybe the Mackintosh house up the Balgrayhill
or a twelfth floor flat at the Fountainwell !

But he’ll have to watch himsel’ aw aye that’s right
if he goes oot for a pint on a friday night
and is clocked in Shevlane’s by a switched on stranger
his life and limb could be in mortal danger !
